Summer of Sport

In a summer dominated by the Paris Olympics and the Euros 24, WTA has also had its own share of sporting and dramatic action. Ugandan boarding school term is pretty hardcore and not for the fainthearted. Sport, Dance and Drama are a vital part of school life, bringing much needed relief and add some levity to the long, tough weeks of the term**.

House competitions in all sports, dance and debate run throughout the year and the four houses (Mandela, Kasoma, Jerry & Mutesa) compete for a trophy and prizes at the end of the year. They cause of huge amount of excitement and noise for both players and spectators. With Uganda winning and holding the world record for the 10,000m gold in Paris, perhaps WTA might produce the next Cheptegei for the future Olympics?!

The latest Whatsapp from WTA broke the news that the dubiously named 'Jerry House' currently holds the most points for the ongoing inter-house competition, leading in netball, basketball, football and even in the traditional dance competition. But a term is a long time in competition terms, so it could (hopefully!) all change by the end of November?

**Each term lasts for 12 weeks; 6.5 days a week; lessons from 7.30 am to 5pm & homework from 7pm - 9pm. On top of that, older students often opt to study from 5am most days and even late into the night. Hard work.
