What makes a Good school? Part 2
A very positive report!

And what else makes a good school? WTA is proud to report, a good government inspector report from the Ministry of Education, no less. No Ofsted here in Uganda, but the equivalent is that a government inspection can happen with zero warning at any time. The turn of WTA came in the last week of term, when the government inspector arrived at 0800, which was also during exam week.

The inspector carefully walked around everywhere, looking into each school department and requesting paperwork at every step. Including the dormitories  (Girls: amazingly clean. Boys: – Definitely ‘room for improvement’…). He was impressed with the two libraries and was also amazed by the facilities of the computer room and laboratories. He poured over the systems of reporting, teacher observation lists and accounting procedures; all passed well . Apart from a few sensible recommendations, his overriding feedback was that he couldn't believe that such a well-resourced, well organised and affordable school could exist outside Kampala, in such a remote area.

For WTA, as a relatively unknown private secondary school, such a positive, inspection report from a government department, is very encouraging & affirming for Charles as Director, the new HM and the whole staff, especially during this first term of working together.

A Good School, indeed.
